Is Chia Seed Oil any good for skin care?

I'm hearing nothing but amazing things about Chia Seed Oil. I hear that it smells good as well as plumps and brightens the skin. Yep, it got my attention....real quick!

According to a published reporter quoting Adam Friedman, an associate professor of dermatology at the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. “Chia seed oil is chock-full of important saturated fatty acids, which are both integral to maintaining healthy skin cell membranes and warding off the harmful effects of free radicals".

Another 2010 study notes that chia seed oil is the richest botanical source of 18:3 n-3 fatty acid currently known. This is great news because Omega-3's have a reputation for being a powerful anti-inflammatory when applied topically.

It’s really hydrating, which makes it an ideal moisturizer. Bottom line? Chia seed oil can as part of your natural or organic skin care regimen. It will help your skin fight irritation, dehydration, and even banish blemishes. You can look for it in skin-care ingredient lists by its Latin name, Salvia Hispanica. Be sure to buy USDA Certified Organic Chia Seed Oil whenever possible.
